Tamil Nadu is a state located in the southern part of India. It is known for its rich cultural heritage and beautiful landscapes. As of 2019, there are seven airports in Tamil Nadu – four international and five domestic. The four international airports are Chennai International Airport, Coimbatore International Airport, Madurai International Airport and Tiruchirapalli (Trichy) International Airport.

Apart from these, there are five domestic airports in Tamil Nadu which provide air connectivity to other parts of the country. These are Tuticorin Airport, Salem Airport, Pondicherry Airport, Neyveli Airport and Vellore Airport.
Tuticorin Airport (Thoothukudi Aiport)
Tuticorin or Thoothukudi airport was established in 1992 and is soon expected to become Tamil Nadu’s fifth International Airport. This airport is located approximately 17 km from the main town center and can take up to 72 passengers during peak hours.
