Flying can be a stressful experience, but with some preparation and knowledge of the process it doesn’t have to be. Before your flight, you will need to confirm your flight status, check-in deadline times and understand the web check-in process as well as airport rules. Here is what you need to know before boarding your next flight.
Confirm Flight Status
The night before you are scheduled to fly, check to make sure that everything is proceeding as planned. After purchasing your ticket, you should have received a confirmation e-mail from your airline. Check that confirmation to make sure the flight is still scheduled to take off on time.
Check-in Deadline Times
For most airports, you must be checked in at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time (airports requiring additional time are listed below). Additionally, you’re required to be at the gate and ready to board 15 minutes before scheduled departure. If you are traveling internationally, please review our recommended international travel checklist for more information.
Web Check-in Process
Here are the steps you need to follow to do web check-in for domestic flights:
- Visit the official website and click on the check-in tab.
- Enter PNR/booking ref and last name.
- Select the passenger seat (Or else you can check-in through auto-assigned seat)
- After selecting your seat tap ok.
Airport Check-in Rules
Passengers can check-in at IndiGo counters located at airports. Passengers must keep in mind the following rules related to airport check-ins:
- Complete your government-mandated web check-in for free 48 hours and 60 min before flight.
- Domestic Travel Check-in counters closes 60 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.
By understanding these four points, you can feel confident and prepared when taking your next flight. Make sure to plan ahead and arrive at the airport early so you don’t miss your flight.
