Traveling can be a stressful experience, but it doesn’t have to be. Taking the time to prepare for your flight ahead of time can help make sure everything goes smoothly and you arrive at your destination on time. This article will provide an overview of what steps you should take before boarding a domestic flight in order to ensure a smooth journey.
Check Confirmation Email
Before flying, make sure that your ticket has been confirmed by checking your confirmation email from your airline. It is important to double check this information as flights may be delayed or canceled due to weather conditions or other unexpected circumstances.
Arrive at Airport Early
When traveling within the United States, we recommend arriving at the airport at least two hours prior to departure. For most airports, you must be checked in at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time (airports requiring additional time are listed below). Additionally, you must also be at the gate 10 minutes prior to departure.
Web Check-In Instructions
You can save time by doing a web check-in instead of waiting in line at the airport. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Visit the official website and click on the check-in tab
- Enter PNR/booking ref and last name
- Select the passenger seat (Or else you can check-in through auto-assigned seat)
- After selecting your seat tap ok
Note: For flights departing from Guam before 9:30 a.m., you can check in the night before your flight, between 7:30 p.m. Perishable items should still go through regular check-in.
Check Important Notices Page
Before you travel, we recommend checking the Important Notices page to see if there are any updates or advisories affecting your departure or arrival airport. This page will include any announcements related to delays, cancellations, or changes in regulations.
Following these simple steps will help ensure a stress-free journey when taking a domestic flight. Make sure to always check your confirmation email, arrive early at the airport, do a web check-in, and read the important notices page before traveling.
