Navi Mumbai International Airport is expected to be opened and inaugurated in August 2024. The airport will be built by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) and operated by Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL). Project Overview
The Navi Mumbai International Airport has a planned area of 1,160 hectares and estimated cost of Rs 16,700 crore. It was originally intended to begin operations from December 2020, but due to various reasons including the Covid-19 pandemic, the opening has been postponed. Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAH) has taken over the construction of the airport and it is now likely to start functioning from 2024.
Nodal Agency and Operator
The nodal agency responsible for the Navi Mumbai International Airport is CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation), while the operator is Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL).
Airport Development Plan
The airport is planned to be built in four phases through to 2032. The first phase is expected to open in August 2024 with commercial operations beginning on 31st of December 2024.
