The Veer Savarkar International Airport (IATA: IXZ, ICAO: VOPB) is the only international airport located in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands of India. It was named after Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, a famous freedom fighter who had been detained in the Cellular Jail in Port Blair for 10 years. The airport is designated as a civil enclave under the control of Indian Navy. The passenger terminal building and Apron are administered by AAI. The Apron has 6 parking stands capable of accommodating Code Ç type aircraft with power-in and power-out configuration.
