Shimla Airport
The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Alliance Air has recommenced the Delhi-Shimla flight, which will operate daily, effective from 26th September 2022. The flight service will enhance air connectivity between Delhi and Shimla.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi flagged off the flight of Alliance Air in 2017. After operating for over two years under UDAN Scheme, this flight was discontinued due to the airport’s renovation.
SLV Airport Update
There are three airports and five heliports in Himachal Pradesh; here, the airport name Shimla, Kullu, & Kangra, and five heliports, i.e., Kangnidhar, Shimla, Rampur, Baddi, and SASE(Manali). Many airports that are developed or are being developed would boost the tourism industry of Himachal Pradesh once completed.
The Himachal Pradesh Govt has been requested to extend support to remove obstacles and provide the requisite land for making Shimla airport.
